The best AI visibility tools, without the ranking

Most best-tools lists in this category are written by one of the tools on the list, and the author tends to finish first. We make one of these tools, so instead of a ranking you get the evaluation criteria first, then an alphabetical directory of every tool we have actually reviewed, with the date we looked. We are in the list, under the same scrutiny.

Six questions to ask any tool, ours included

Can you see the derivation behind every number?

A trustworthy metric links to what produced it: the prompts run, the answers returned, the sample count. A dollar figure or score with no visible arithmetic is a sales aid, not a measurement.

Do sample sizes and intervals back the vocabulary?

Labels like measured, estimated or confidence-tiered mean nothing without the statistics they imply. Ask for the n and the interval behind any share. If the answer is a label, the label is a costume.

How fast did the first confident number appear?

Real sampling takes time. A precise score in the first minute is a model wearing a measurement's clothes. Honest numbers start wide and visibly narrow as samples accumulate.

Who actually runs the measurement, and is the method public?

A public methodology page should say what is measured, how often, on which engines, and what the tool cannot see. It should also be clear whether the measurement is first-party or run by a partner.

Is the history measured and dated, or projected?

Case studies are records; projections are models. Unattributed dashboard screenshots and month-12 curves styled as outcomes confuse the two, and the confusion is rarely accidental.

Is measurement separated from fulfillment?

When the same vendor writes the content, places the links, and grades the results, the grader has a stake in the grade. Independent measurement costs the vendor something when the number is bad. That cost is what makes it believable.

The long version of these questions, with the patterns each one catches, is on measured vs asserted.

The directory, alphabetical

Only tools we have reviewed hands-on against their public surfaces. Each note states what we observed on the stated date, nothing more. A tool being listed is not an endorsement, and absence only means we have not reviewed it yet.

citAEOtion

citaeotion.aiobserved July 21, 2026

Does one thing and does it honestly: server-side observation of AI crawler traffic (named bots, intent classification, per-page detail) via a WordPress plugin or Cloudflare Worker, from real server hits rather than guesses. By its own stated scope it watches bots only, so it does not tell you whether you were cited in an answer or whether humans arrived from one. We could not find an independent review footprint for it on the hosts we searched at that date.

Clovion

clovion.aiobserved July 20, 2026

The most polished packaging we have reviewed in the category: a clear engine-count pricing ladder, four free tools, a comparison-page cluster, and an agent-readable pricing table that is genuinely clever. On the surfaces we reviewed we could not find a methodology page, published score weights, sample sizes, or intervals behind its composite visibility score, and we could not find third-party reviews of the product at that date.

CookMyRank

cookmyrank.comobserved July 20, 2026

Publishes its six audit checks, and its mention tracking runs each prompt several times per engine and reports the percentage of runs a brand appears in, which is genuinely honest sampling discipline. Its core wedge applies fixes automatically through its own infrastructure in your site's serving path, a trade-off worth weighing deliberately. We could not find an independent review footprint at that date.

Local SEO Bot

localseobot.comobserved July 21, 2026

A fulfillment-first local SEO service (profile posts, citation building, review tools, geo-grid rank maps) with an unusually complete white-label agency layer. AI visibility appears as a bundled report; on the surfaces we reviewed we could not find a methodology, sample sizes, or intervals behind it, and we could not corroborate the review rating claimed on its homepage on any independent review host we checked at that date.

SEOAIO

seoaio.aiobserved July 22, 2026that is us

Us, held to the same bar. We measure citation share on three engines today (Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT), each share with its sample count and 95% Wilson interval; robots.txt crawler access per named bot; observed crawler hits reconciled against robots policy; AI referral traffic; and answer accuracy against owner-declared facts. Our limits as stated on this date: three engines, no scheduler yet, and a review footprint as thin as most of this list, because we are young too.

SeoVision

seovision.ioobserved July 21, 2026

The widest engine list we have reviewed (nine tracked answer surfaces), an MCP server included on every plan, and a public data-sources page with a confidence-tier vocabulary: all real leads on the rest of the category. On the surfaces we reviewed, that vocabulary carried no sample sizes or intervals, and the same subscription auto-publishes daily articles and runs a backlink exchange, which places measurement and fulfillment in the same hands. We could not find an independent review footprint at that date.

Uberall (GEO Studio, GEO Pulse)

uberall.comobserved July 21, 2026

The enterprise incumbent for multi-location brands, with GEO now front and center and an agent bundled on every plan. Its own launch press describes GEO Studio as built in collaboration with AthenaHQ. On the GEO surfaces we reviewed we found no sample sizes, intervals, or methodology disclosure, and dollar-value metrics shown without a visible derivation.

How every number we show is produced, sample sizes and intervals included, is on how we measure.
