For webmasters

The SEOAIO crawler

If this user agent appeared in your logs, it was us, and this page is the one it points to:

SEOAIO-AEO-Inspector/1.0 (+https://seoaio.ai/bot; on-page AEO readiness)

When it fetches

Only when a person asks a question about a specific page: a free audit or checkup someone ran on your domain, or a customer measuring a site they added. It does not discover URLs, follow links across your site, or crawl on a schedule of its own. One request answers one question, and repeated requests from the same visitor are rate limited on our side.

What it reads

The requested page's HTML, and your robots.txt, which it reads to REPORT your crawl directives back to whoever ran the audit (which AI crawlers you allow or block is part of what we measure). It executes no JavaScript, submits no forms, and stores what it fetched as the evidence behind the audit result.

Why it identifies itself

House rule, enforced in the crawler's constructor: a measurement tool that disguises its traffic is manufacturing the very numbers it claims to measure. The user agent names us and links here, always.

How to block it

Block the user agent string SEOAIO-AEO-Inspector at your server or firewall, and it is blocked: audits of your domain will honestly report that the page could not be fetched rather than working around you. To also stop your domain being measured in AI answers by our free checkup, use the verified opt-out.
