Brand profile: the space you want to be found in
Enter the topics and products you want to be found for, and your automatic prompt set starts asking about your space rather than only your name.
What it is
A short owner-written profile (industry, topics, products, and an optional description) that seeds the prompts we sample when measuring Answer Share.
When to use it
Early, before your first Answer Share run, and again whenever your category or product line changes.
Step by step
- 1Open AI Prompts and find Brand profile at the top of the page.
- 2Enter your industry, then the topics you want to be found for, one per line, up to twenty.
- 3Add the products or services you sell, and optionally a sentence or two on what the brand does.
- 4Click Save brand profile, then run Answer Share so the seeded prompts get sampled.
What you will see
Your saved profile, and a prompt set that now asks about your topics as well as your name. The first six distinct topics and products each seed two questions, one asking for the best options in that space and one asking which companies are known for it.
Measured, never manufactured
This is what stops a flattering measurement. With no profile, the automatic prompt set can only be derived from your hostname, so it asks whether the engine knows your name, and a brand-anchored question is one you are close to guaranteed to win. Topic questions are not brand-anchored at all, so a low share on one of them is a genuine gap rather than a foregone conclusion. Every entry is yours, so no prompt is fabricated, and a site with no profile keeps behaving exactly as it did before.
