Citation yield by content provenance
Split your measured citations by which sections of your site are auto-published and which are earned, so you can see whether generated pages actually get cited.
What it is
A split of the citations engines gave your own pages, grouped by a content class you declare: auto-published or earned. Each class reports its citation count, its share of all your own-page citations with a 95 percent confidence band, and its yield in citations per page.
When to use it
When you publish generated content at any scale and want to know whether it earns citations or only occupies URLs, and before deciding to publish more of it.
Step by step
- 1Open Analyze and scroll to “Citation yield by content provenance”.
- 2Under Declare your generated sections, enter one path prefix per line, for example /blog/ai/.
- 3Lines count as auto-published by default. Prefix a line with earned: to mark a section as human-written, for example earned: /docs/.
- 4Click Save rules. The split is computed from the citations already measured, so nothing needs re-running.
What you will see
One row per declared class with its citations, its share, the confidence band on that share, the page count, and the citations-per-page yield. Cited pages matching no rule are reported on their own line rather than quietly bucketed. With no rules declared, the panel reads Not measured.
Measured, never manufactured
The class split is your declaration, never a detector’s guess. Deciding from the text whether a page was AI-written is a model’s opinion with a real error rate, and a split built on that guess would be manufacture. You already know which sections your publishing tool wrote, so you declare them and we split the measured citations by your own statement. Worth naming who can print this honestly: a vendor that both auto-publishes content and grades citation performance indicts its own product every time the number comes back bad. We publish nothing, so we can show it.
