The rank-vs-answer gap
Your Google position and your measured AI citation rate for the same query, as one fact, in four states.
What it is
A joined table. For each tracked keyword it shows where you rank on Google beside how many of the AI answers we sampled for that intent actually named you. Crossing the two produces four states: ranked and cited, ranked but never cited, cited without ranking, and absent from both.
When to use it
When traffic is fine but you suspect the answer layer is passing you over, or when you want to know which pages to fix first.
Step by step
- 1Track the keywords you care about on the Keywords page.
- 2Make sure your prompt set phrases those same intents, since that is how the two halves are joined.
- 3Open the rank-vs-answer table at the bottom of the Keywords page.
- 4Work the 'ranked, never cited' rows first.
What you will see
A row per query with its Google position, its citation count out of the sampled answers with a confidence interval, and its state.
Measured, never manufactured
The two halves are NEVER averaged into one score. A rank is a single SERP read with no interval; an answer share is a sample of engine responses and carries one. Blending them would destroy the information that makes the table worth reading. Where your prompt set phrases an intent differently the row reads not measured rather than zero, because we did not measure it.
